Abraham
Abraham (PBUH), the father of monotheism and builder of the Kaaba, who is mentioned 69 times in 35 chapters of the Qu’ran, (Kathir 2003, 188)(Wikipedia 2023) is a link in the chain of prophets that begins with Adam and culminates in Muhammad (PBUH) via Ishmael. (Wikipedia 2023) Abraham is also the founding father of the special relationship or covenant between Jews and God in Judaism and the spiritual progenitor of all believers, whether Jews or non-Jews, in Christianity. (Wikipedia 2023)
Jesus
In Christianity, Jesus is the son of God while in Islam, Jesus is a Prophet of God. Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah nor the Son of God. Christians believe that Jesus was crucified and resurrected and that Jesus will return in a Second Coming as the Messiah. In Islam, “most Muslims believe Jesus was raised to Heaven without being put on the cross and God created a resemblance to appear exactly like Jesus who was crucified instead of Jesus, and he ascended bodily to Heaven, there to remain until his Second Coming in the End of Days.” (Wikipedia 2023)
Adam and Eve
“It was recognized in ancient Judaism that there are two distinct accounts for the creation of man. The first account says ‘male and female’ [God] created them, implying simultaneous creation, whereas the second account states that God created Eve subsequent to the creation of Adam.” (Wikipedia 2023) In Christianity, “Some early fathers of the Christian church held Eve responsible for the Fall of Man and all subsequent women to be the first sinners because Eve tempted Adam to commit the taboo.” (Wikipedia 2023) “Based on the Christian doctrine of the Fall of man, came the doctrine of original sin.” (Wikipedia 2023) “Original sin became a concept that man is born into a condition of sinfulness and must await redemption.” (Wikipedia 2023). “According to the Quran, both Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in a Heavenly Eden. As a result, they were both sent down to Earth as God’s representatives. Each person was sent to a mountain peak: Adam on al-Safa and Eve on al-Marwah. In this Islamic Tradition, Adam wept for 40 days until he repented, after which God sent down the Black Stone, teaching him the Hajj.” (Wikipedia 2023)
Moses
In Judaism, “the midrash identifies Moses as one of seven biblical personalities…” (Wikipedia 2023) “In another exegesis, Moses had ascended in the first heaven until the seventh, even visited Paradise and Hell alive, after he saw the divine vision on Mt. Horeb.” (Wikipedia 2023) (Similar to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH) According to Jews, Moses is the greatest prophet who ever lived. In Judaism, Moses is not a God or Son of God, but a Prophet. Moses is not to be worshipped as Judaism is monotheistic. (Wikipedia 2023). In Christianity, Moses is an important figure. “For Christians, Moses is often a symbol of God’s law, as reinforced and expounded on in the teachings of Jesus. New Testament writers often compared Jesus’ words and deeds with Moses’ to explain Jesus’ mission…Moses also figures in several of Jesus’ messages.” (Wikipedia 2023)
